Now that 2011 is coming to a close, we can now look to 2012 and see what will be the most highly anticipated films for that year. Here is my top 10 films I think will be the most highly anticipated films for 2012.
10. Battleship- I know this is a game, but the film surprisingly looks awesome, everything about this kids film looks huge. This will be a great summer film.
9. 007: Skyfall- Finally this is getting made, ever since the last 007 film I felt like it was crap. But I have faith that the next one will be better. You can never go wrong with 007 franchise
8. The Hunger Games- Yes I feel that this teen book will be good and it will make up for the Twilight crap. I’ve never read the books nor did I know that it was a book, but ever since the teaser came out I thought it looked awesome.
7. The Expendables 2- Who doesn’t like badass guys all in one film, ever since the the first one came out I fell in love with this film. When I heard that Chuck Norris was going to be in the second film, my breath was taken away. Yes I’m a sucker to 80’s action films. This is going to be an awesome badass film!
6. Total Recall- I know people hate remakes, but this will be huge. It will be a good remake.
5. Promethus- Ever since I heard that Riddley Scott was doing another Aliens films I was like finally no more Gladiator type films, but than when I heard he wasn’t and doing different type of alien film I was like ehhh ok…. But when the teaser came out and found out it was the prequel to Aliens I was like Fuck yes! Just the teaser alone makes this film look awesome.
4. Ghost Riders 2- This film I’m really excited for, the first one was ok but man does the 2nd one look awesome.
3. The Avengers- Finally we get the Avengers! It’s been three years now and Marvel has been leading us up to one huge film.
2. The Dark Knight Rises- TDKR to me will be huge, but it won’t be the biggest. It will be a great ending to the trilogy. I’m not a Nolan fan, but I give him credit for fixing a franchise.
1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey- I know a lot of you Batman fans are like bull crap that I put The Hobbit as number 1, but let’s get something straight here. The Dark Knight Rises is no Epic film compared to what Peter Jackson will bring with The Hobbit. This film people have been waiting for, for over a decade now. This film will own every film next year.
This year I really hadn’t got the chance to see as many films as I would like, but I did get to see some that where in my opinion awesome. So here is my top 10 films that I enjoyed most… and if you hate this list, then well sorry you read through it all but thanks for reading.
10. Thor- Put Shakespeare and add some comic book touch to it and you get Thor. I loved every thing that this brought as a Mythology film, and it tied in with the whole Avengers story as well. I thought as a good start to the summer that this was perfect.
9. Money Ball- As a sports fan, I thought this was great. I’m not a Brad Pitt fan at all, but his acting in this made it even better. I thought it was a good way of telling the story of how one man tried his best and still is in making a team win the world series.
8. Harry Potter- Now I’m not the biggest fan of The Harry Potter films, nor do I enjoy the films. But after seeing the final film I felt that it was done well. It was a great summer film and felt it ended the series the best it could.
7. Captain America- Who doesn’t like Captain America? I mean he is Americas super hero! This was an awesome summer film, and the final chapter to The Avengers. I felt that it tied the whole series up just like Thor did.
6. Sherlock Holmes: The Game of Shadows- This was a great Holiday film, and it had everything the first one had and more. The only thing I felt it lacked was the ending. It could have done better, but other then that I loved it.
5. Transformers 3- What can I say i love robots and explosions, as my 5th favorite film of 2011 I thought TF3 made that list without any sweat. The 3D was awesome, and the robots war on Earth was outstanding. I know a lot of people hate this film and the franchise because it’s a mindless film… That’s because it is! Just enjoy the film for what it is.
4. Mission Impossible: IV- I may not enjoy Tom Cruise as a person, but damn the guy can make a movie. I thought MI:IV was at it’s best in the series. The whole building scene alone was tense…. and that’s just one scene!
3. Super 8- I have to give Spielberg and J.J. Abrams the credit for bringing back childhood memories. Super 8 alone was awesome, and the story was perfect. It made me want to be a kid again, and not many films can do that. This was my favorite summer film of 2011
2. Adventures of Tintin- Even though I have not seen this film nor the number 1 film yet, I can say that Tintin would and will be my 2nd favorite film of 2011. The reason is because of two directors I respect teamed up and made an animated stop motion film to the highest level. Peter Jackson Producing and Spielberg Directing what more could you ask for.
1. War Horse- Like I said with Tintin I haven’t seen this film yet, but seeing shots in Previs I was blown away. This film to me could win Best Picture, and Spielberg pulls off another one of his epic war films that the whole family will love

I finally saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and have to say I was blown away, the whole film was none stop action and of course a lot of running. If you hate it or not the MI films have been awesome. I’m not a Tom Cruse fan, but the guy can make good films.
The main reason why I wanted to see this film was because of who directed it, Brad Bird has only done animated films and he is good at that. So when I heard he was doing his first live action film and it was going to be MI:IV I really wanted to see what he could do and he did amazing.
I’m not going to give anything away because it does have some story that has to tie into MI:III.

This week, people got the chance to view two of the most anticipated films for 2012, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Dark Knight Rises.
I will say that both films will do massively well, but knowing me I will be more excited for The Hobbit. The reason is because of what Lord of the Rings did and that is bring back story telling and also make something awesome be even more awesome. I know that a lot of TDKR fans will hate this blog, but let’s be honest The Hobbit is hands down better.
People say that the Dark Knight made more then the Lord of the rings film, that maybe so on the first two but the third one made $100 million more than TDK so in that The Hobbit should do more.
I have now officially dropped 5 lbs with http://apps.facebook.com/hcgslim/. Has anyone else used it? If not, I highly recommend!!
I found out that Dwayne Johnson and Taylor Lautner might be playing in the Biblical story of David and Goliath that will be made into a feature film. Now to me this is a bad idea, not only is Hollywood going to ruin this from their idea of changing the story (Who knows they might change it back to the true story of David and Goliath)
The only problem is that Taylor might be in it, sorry but the guy can’t act and I just don’t see him playing David because David is a badass guy.
As a Christian I am tired of Hollywood ruining Biblical stories, not saying they make a lot but the reason is because Hollywood is a screwed up system… and is funny in away that I’m in the industry. If they do make David and Goliath into a film they should stick to the history of how David beat Goliath.
So today I looked up the box office report and saw that the last Harry potter film has now beaten The Lord of the Rings Return of the King with $1,133,901,000 and in all honesty any film that makes over $1 billion is pretty impressive. I will say that it sucks seeing Return of the King got down to the number 4 spot, but hey everything can keep their spot forever.
Now I maybe one of the hugest Lord of the Rings fans out of my friends and family, even though Harry potter beat Return of the King the film (or Trilogy) has a few things that Harry Potter will never have and that is the biggest fan base, the best book to film, 11 Oscars including best picture, amazing VFX, and the Lord of the Rings films will be remembered for years to come unlike Harry Potter.
The upside to all this is that next year another film will reclaim that spot and that is The Hobbit pt. 1. Sorry Harry Potter fans, but The Hobbit is going to show other films how to get it done.
So I finally saw Harry Potter 7 pt. 2 and I won’t go into much detail of what I thought about the film or give away to much of what the movie was about (Since everyone an their cats saw it)
The Film starts off where the last one ended, and I have to say it was ok I mean it wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad. It really isn’t a summer film at all since it’s mostly a drawn out film about a boy who has to defeat the bad guy.
I will say that yea I can see how the fans would feel sad now that the franchise is over, I mean it’s a whole decade of films done. After seeing this film I felt like the fans over hyped it (Like most summer films) and thought that this would be none stop action when the fights where short. I felt that Transformers 3 owned it with none stop action (but that’s because Transformers franchise is made for the summer) I can say that this film ended the franchise in a good note.
The biggest problem I had and it’s a minor one is that at the end it says “19 years later” Well wouldn’t you think that when you go 19 years later that you would make the actors look a bit like they where 19 years older? I mean a kid who is 17 won’t look 17 when it’s 19 years later.
If you are a fan of Harry Potter you will like it, if your a fan of Lord of the Rings…. Well just stick to Lord of the Rings.
I’ve done some looking into this, and what I found out is that some things just aren’t what it seems. For example, my girlfriend is a huge fan of Harry Potter and that’s ok as long as it’s not Twilight I’m ok.
I told my girlfriend last week that Harry Potter was a kids version of The Lord of the Rings books because the wizard leader in Harry Potter looks like Gandalf and what not. Well my girlfriend told me that all wizards are a copy to Merlin. So knowing me I did some research and what I found out Merlin wasn’t a wizard. Merlin is based primarily on Myrddin Wyllt, also called Merlinus Caledonensis, and Aurelius Ambrosius, a mostly fictionalized version of the historical war leader Ambrosius Aurelianus. The former had nothing to do with Arthur and lived after the Arthurian period. According to lore he was a bard driven mad after witnessing the horrors of war, who fled civilization to become a wild man of the wood in the 6th century.Geoffrey had this individual in mind when he wrote his earliest surviving work, the Prophetiae Merlini (Prophecies of Merlin), which he claimed were the actual words of the legendary madman.
